EcoChurch SouthWest news

Hi everyone!

Here is a brief update of some recent news:

* At least four of us will be attending the Climate Lobby in London next week under the EcoChurch SouthWest banner, and talking to our MPs about the prime importance of tackling climate change in the run up to the Paris Summit in November/December. There are ecumenical services at 12 noon and a gathering around interactive art at Archbishops Park from 2.00pm. See:http://operationnoah.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Official-lobby-guide.pdf for details.

* The Papal Encyclical on the environment (Laudato Sii) will be launched at the Vatican on 18th June (Waterloo Day!!).

* I am attaching the flier for our ECSW conference in Exeter on Thursday 10th September. Please publicise as much as possible through your own contacts and networks (e.g. DAC, Comms., ecumenical links, etc.)

* Worship material is now being prepared for use prior to and during the Paris Summit and we hope there will be vigils and services in at least Bristol, Exeter and Plymouth Cathedrals (hopefully more) as well as local churches.

* James Buchanan is collecting information nationally about anyone making pilgrimage to Paris. Please send him any details you have at james [dot] buchananatchurchofengland [dot] org

* Finally, I can now confirm that the next ECSW meeting will be at 11.00am on Tuesday 11th August at Bristol Cathedral. I hope some of us who are members of the regional group can make that date…

Kind regards – Martyn
