The fifth edition of the World Council of Churches (WCC) Eco-School on Water, Food, and Climate Justice, will be held 24-31 July in Crete, Greece. Convening in person in the Orthodox Academy of Crete, Greece, the event is open to young people under 30 years of age from the Europe and North American region only.
Since 2017, the WCC Ecumenical Water Network, the Eco-Justice Team, and the youth program have been organizing this training program in different continents. The WCC Eco-Schools have produced so far over 150 WCC eco-ambassadors who have continued to work with their churches and universities on ecological issues.
This year it's time for Europe and North America region. As the Regional Ecumenical Organisation for the region, we request you to kindly disseminate this information among the youth of your network, encouraging them to apply for this opportunity or nominate suitable candidates. Organizers of the event will take care of the accommodation and food expenses, while travel expenses will have to be covered by the sending churches/organizations/applicants.
The deadline to apply is 15 June 2023.
